How to have Peace with God

God’s Love for Mankind

The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”(John 3:16) Mankind is the crown of God’s creation and He loves us so much. God longs to bless humanity with life, but not just any kind of life, but one that is without end. Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”(John 10:10)

Mankind’s Hopeless Condition

Although it is God’s desire for every person to have eternal life, a devastating tragedy stands in our way. Mankind has a sin issue, and because of that we are unworthy of receiving eternal life. As a result of the sinful nature all of humanity is born with, there is no hope for life after death on this earth. Mankind’s heart problem of sin has created a chasm too wide for us to overcome. The Bible says, “…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…”(Romans 3:23) It also says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”(Romans 6:23) No matter how good of a life we are able live on this earth, it will always be stained with the shortcomings of our sinful nature. As a result, our lives and work on this earth earn us death and eternal separation from God.

The Good News of the Gospel

There is good news however- Although the result of our sinful nature is death and eternal separation from God, a free offer of eternal life has been extended. This gift is made available through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In fact, it’s the greatest news ever! Although the punishment of our sin is death, the Bible also tells us salvation is freely offered in Christ Jesus, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) Because of our sin, the only path to God is believing in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Bible records that Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

God offers peace and fulfilling life to any person who chooses to accept Christ as their Savior. Will you receive Christ and trust in Him alone for forgiveness and eternal life? It’s as simple as saying the following prayer:

Accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior

Dear God, I know I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I repent and trust in Christ alone for peace and eternal life. I accept Christ as my Savior. I believe He died, was buried, and rose from the dead. I now make Him Lord of my life. Please help me to always live for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Did you accept Jesus as your Savior? If so, you have made the greatest decision of your life! Share your great news with others. Make your decision public and be baptized.
